Cookie Policy

Our approach

We use the smallest practical set of cookies. Essential cookies keep Spell Hop working securely. Optional Google Ads measurement is off unless a parent chooses to allow it.

Essential cookies

• Sign-in session: keeps a parent signed in after a magic-link or family-password sign-in.
• Parent protection: short-lived cookies protect access to parent-only settings and passcode recovery.
• Active child profile: remembers the selected profile during an authenticated session.
• Cookie preference: remembers a parent's accept or reject choice for optional measurement.

These cookies are necessary for the service or to remember your privacy choice.

Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics for basic site and generic product page usage. It is configured to exclude dynamic quiz, results, and history URLs, as well as other sensitive paths. We do not send custom events or learning data to Vercel.

Optional Google Ads measurement

If a parent accepts optional measurement, Spell Hop loads the Google tag to measure only three customer-acquisition events: completed parent setup, Checkout started, and a paid subscription confirmed by our Stripe webhook. The paid subscription is the primary conversion; the other two are secondary.

We do not use Google Analytics, session replay, remarketing audiences, behavioural profiling, advertising personalisation, or enhanced conversions. We do not send child names, ages, profile or account IDs, quiz content, answers, progress, rewards, parent email addresses, or free-text input to Google.

Changing your choice

Use Cookie preferences in the footer at any time to accept or reject optional measurement. Rejecting it prevents the Google tag from loading on future pages.
